"Top Ten Messages from Ten Top Books"
"The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read." Mark Twain's quote sets the stage for Gary's informative and educational presentation on the key messages from ten of the best business books. Gary has been an avid reader of great business education for over 30 years. For the past five years he has written a monthly book review for business publications. When he reads a book that has incredible wisdom he takes the time to write a book report. This is how he learns. Audiences will learn the key messages of wisdom from books such as The World is Flat by Thomas L. Friedman, Good to Great by Jim Collins, The E-Myth Manager by Michael E. Gerber, How to Win Customers and Keep Them for Life by Michael LeBoeuf, The People Principle by Ron Willingham and Six Disciplines Execution Revolution and Six Disciplines for Excellence by Gary Harpst. Gary Tomlinson believes when you combine great business education with your own business experience the outcome you'll receive is far greater than the sum of its parts. "Marketing to Women - Why They're not a Niche Market"
Women are the world's most powerful consumer. They make up over half of the population and control well over half of the spending. Yet, most marketing has a male-oriented culture. And men's marketing typically does not work with women. The interesting twist is if you're successful in marketing to women, men come along too! In 2006 Gary co-founded Women's Edge, a magazine for and about professional women. He continues to be a student of female gender culture and marketing to women. Gary's timely presentation on "Marketing to Women" aims to help you avoid costly mistakes by sharing what makes women a worthwhile market, why you must market differently to them and how you get beyond gender generalities to actionable tactics.
